FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about our Password Generator or CyberSafeGuide? Find answers below or contact us!

1. What is the Password Generator?

Our Password Generator is a free tool that creates strong, random passwords to secure your online accounts. You can customize the length (up to 50 characters) and choose to include uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.

2. How is the “Time to Crack” calculated?

The tool estimates how long it would take a hacker to crack your password using brute-force methods, assuming 10 billion attempts per second. The time is shown in a readable format, like “8 days 11 hrs” or “743 years 6 months,” based on password length and character types.

3. Is my generated password stored or sent anywhere?

No, all password generation happens in your browser. We don’t store or transmit your passwords, ensuring your privacy.

4. Can I edit the generated password?

Yes! The password box is editable, and the crack time updates automatically as you type or modify the password.

5. What happens if I don’t select any character types?

If no character types (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols) are selected, the tool will show “N/A” for the crack time and prompt you to choose at least one option when generating a password.

6. Why should I use strong passwords?

Weak passwords are a leading cause of data breaches. A strong, random password (at least 12 characters with mixed types) significantly reduces your risk of being hacked.

7. Is CyberSafeGuide free to use?

Yes, our tools and resources are completely free and ad-free, built to help everyone stay secure online.
